Economic Advantages 

• RafterDeTTails use 70% less wood than that of conventional solid sawn rafter tails.  This means that even though RafterDeTTails are manufactured using significantly higher quality materials the costs are not dramatically different.

• Most framers and installers have reported that RafterDeTTails are a pleasure to work with and because they are much shorter and substantially lighter - safer than conventional solid sawn rafter tails.  They can be held in place and power nailed by one person.

• With RafterDeTTails being pre-primed, the costs for site priming are eliminated.

• RafterDeTTails are consistently high quality.  Sorting and culling are eliminated.

• In most cases RafterDeTTails will eliminate the need for costly elevated heels on roof trusses (see the Installation details). Saving 6% - 12% on the cost of roof trusses.

• RafterDeTTails are guaranteed against delamination and since moisture fluctuations in the product are controlled, site caulking or call backs due to cracks or shrinkage can be reduced.  In the unlikely event that a RafterDeTTails needs to be replaced the process is simple and inexpensive.

Environmental Advantages

• RafterDeTTails require 2/3's less wood than conventional solid sawn rafter tails and can be manufactured with wood from smaller, faster growing tress that are found in renewable second growth forests.  Unlike foam, RafterDeTTails primary manufacturing component is not hydrocarbon based.

Quality & Appearance Advantages

• The manufacturing of  RafterDeTTails is closely monitored through strict quality control procedures.  This means that each RafterDeTTail  has a consistent high quality, appearance and finish.

• RafterDeTTails are manufactured using only selected meticulously kiln-dried glue laminated timber.  Each RafterDeTTail is then permanently sealed on all surfaces with high grade exterior latex primer before it leaves TrimTech's facility.  This eliminates the moisture fluctuations in wood that causes the inevitable shrinkage, cracking, and checking that is often apparent in solid sawn conventional rafter tails.

• RafterDeTTails are also supplied uniformly rough sawn and precision profiled to meet the high standards of today's homebuyer.
